Kurdistan Governor visits the construction process of the Saqqez gold extraction factory

According to the Public Relations of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, Dr. Esmail Zarei Kousha, the Governor of Kurdistan Province, along with a group of provincial directors, visited the progress of the Saqqez Gold Extraction Plant construction during their trip to Saqqez on Friday, March 3, 2024.
Dr. Zarei Kosha stated in a meeting held during this visit to examine the obstacles facing this national project: "This project has been a long-standing demand of the people of the region, and now that its implementation process has begun in December of last year during the visit of the President to the province, all relevant managers in the province must provide special support to its implementer."
He added that this project does not belong solely to the Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company and the Sadr Tamin Investment Group, but all provincial managers play a role in its implementation. Everyone should be fully engaged and provide solutions to remove obstacles. Zarei Kousha, while appreciating the efforts of the executive team of the Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company and the satisfactory progress of the project, added that the services provided by the company in the form of social responsibility have been remarkable, and their social and cultural impacts at the provincial and district levels deserve recognition. In this regard, it is expected that the local residents will appreciate this blessing, which is a result of the sacred Islamic Republic of Iran.
He added that all provincial managers should act in a way that, by timely resolving obstacles and problems in the project, we can witness its operation as soon as possible next year.
In continuation, Moghadad Majedi, the CEO of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, outlined the project conditions and stated: "The construction of the Saghez Gold Refining Factory project, with an investment exceeding $65 million, aims to produce 500 kilograms of gold bars annually. The project has been operational since December of last year, and during its operational phase, it will create direct employment for at least 300 people." Majedi added, "Currently, we do not have any significant challenges regarding capital provision and technical issues.
However, if the goal is to inaugurate and begin operations of this national project before the end of the upcoming year, the collaboration and increased interaction of relevant provincial officials, particularly from the departments of Natural Resources, Environment, and the Provincial Water Company, are crucial." He went on to describe the main obstacles of the project and concluded by requesting a faster issuance of permits during the execution of the project by the relevant provincial authorities. During this meeting, several directors of provincial executive organizations and the Saghez district also attended and presented solutions regarding the issues discussed in the session.
