He explained that, with the aim of enhancing the accuracy of mineral reserve evaluations at the Qolqoleh Gold Mine, the company set a target of conducting 10,000 meters of exploratory drilling last year. In this segment of the company's projects, it achieved approximately 84% progress, reflecting satisfactory performance.
Seyyed Zaniar Seyyed Mousavi, the Mining Affairs Manager of the Kurdistan Gold Mines Development Company, elaborated further, stating that the samples collected from the powder drilling operations and the drill cores have been sent to reputable laboratories across the country. In the coming months, with the receipt of the analysis results and integrating them into the mine's block model, a new assessment of the gold reserves at the Qolqoleh Gold Mine will be conducted. He expressed optimism that the reserves would increase significantly and added that they hope to mobilize the extraction and waste removal contractor this month.
This would enable the company to secure the feedstock for the Saqqez Gold Factory by the end of the first half of the year.
Moqdad Majdi, the CEO of Kurdistan Gold, elaborated on the progress made in the construction of the Saqqez Gold Extraction Plant. He stated: "Fortunately, the project's investment attraction has increased by over 400% compared to the previous year. In the last month of 1402, we placed orders for the complete equipment of the plant’s main departments, including crushing, milling, thickeners, and filter presses. According to the planned schedule, the installation of this equipment will begin in the first half of this year."
He added, "The procurement process for four additional departments is also nearing completion, and contracts for the purchase of this equipment will be finalized by the end of the first quarter of the current year. The purchase of dual-fuel generators to supply the factory's electricity is also in the process of selecting a vendor, and in the field of supplying the factory's water, we are also on the agenda of constructing a water transfer pump house next to the Cheragh Weiss Saqez Dam. Also, the design of the gas transfer route to the factory has been completed this month, and the aforementioned operation will be implemented in the future.
It is worth noting that the investment company Sadr Tamin is the majority shareholder of the Kurdistan Gold Mines Development Company. This golden enterprise, located in Saqqez County, Kurdistan Province, in western Iran, is Sadr Tamin's second gold project after Taftan Gold. With an annual production capacity of 500 kilograms of gold bars, the company will contribute 5% of the country's total mined gold production. The company initiated the construction of the Saqqez Gold Extraction Plant in late 1401 by awarding the project to an EPC contractor. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the economic, social, and industrial development of the underdeveloped region of Kurdistan.
