The first meeting of Article 24, Clause 24 of the Mining Law for the year 1403 was held in Kurdistan province, attended by Dr. Ismail Zarei Khosha, the esteemed governor of Kurdistan, along with other heads of provincial government organizations.
According to the public relations office of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, this meeting, which focused on the challenges facing the mining sector of Kurdistan, specifically addressed issues raised by the company. The meeting, chaired by the governor of Kurdistan, involved the Article 24 Dispute Resolution Board members.
The company had requested approval for the construction of an access road from the Qaleh Qaleh Gold Mine to the Sahgiz Gold Refinery and for the expansion of the mine's working face. After presenting the obstacles and challenges, and emphasizing the importance of overcoming them to ensure timely operation and economic development in the province, the company’s request was granted. After 19 months of follow-up, the board granted both permits unanimously to Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company.
The two mentioned issues form the cornerstone of ensuring a sustainable feed supply for the Sahgiz Gold Refinery. The expansion of the Qaleh Qaleh Gold Mine’s working face has been increased from 9 hectares to approximately 68 hectares, and the access road from the Qaleh Qaleh Gold Mine to the Sahgiz Gold Refinery will be improved and constructed over a distance of about 22 kilometers. According to the management of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, following the successful efforts of the Kurdistan Gold team in obtaining these permits, the execution of the access road construction from the Qaleh Qaleh Gold Mine to the Sahgiz Gold Refinery and the preparation of the Qaleh Qaleh Gold Mine will commence immediately and concurrently with the construction of the processing plant.
