Nine-Month Performance Evaluation Meeting of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company
On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, a meeting was held to evaluate the nine-month performance of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, ending on December 21, 2023. The meeting was attended by Seyed Mohammad Saber Parvaresh, Deputy for Supervision of Company Affairs, Mohammad Reza Rezvanianzadeh, Deputy for Mining Affairs, managers and experts from Sadr Tameen Investment Company, Ghodad Majdi, Managing Director of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, and other company managers in the Tasico meeting hall.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ghodad Majdi, the company's managing director, presented a report on the latest status of the company's projects. He stated that the company's ongoing projects are categorized into four areas:
Expansion of exploration activities in Kurdistan gold mines: This includes searching for and exploring new areas to discover more gold reserves in Kurdistan province.
Preparation and equipping of the Ghalghaleh gold mine: Preparing the necessary infrastructure for gold extraction from the Ghalghaleh mine and equipping it with the required machinery and equipment.
Projects to create mine and plant infrastructure: Constructing and developing the necessary infrastructure for mining activities and a gold processing plant.
Project to construct a gold extraction plant in Saqqez: Constructing and commissioning a plant to extract gold from ore.
Mr. Majdi emphasized that all of these projects are being pursued and implemented. Continuing the meeting, the Managing Director of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company provided a comprehensive overview of the operational status of each of the aforementioned sections. He highlighted that the most critical project for the company is the gold extraction plant, and according to the latest reviews of the contractors' schedules in this area, the cold commissioning of the plant is expected in the summer of 2024, provided that the shareholders provide timely financing. Later in the meeting, Seyed Zanyar Seyed Mousavi, the Mining Affairs Manager of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, presented a supplementary report on the company's mining projects. He mentioned the increase in the proven reserves of the Ghalghaleh gold mine from 12 to 15 tons as a significant achievement of the company and added: Based on preliminary assessments of some of the data obtained from this year's exploration drilling, we expect to see a further increase in the proven reserves of the Ghalghaleh gold mine.
Seyed Mousavi added: "Following the deployment of the contractor for waste removal and extraction at the Ghalghaleh gold mine, the workshop equipment in this section is being installed despite adverse weather conditions. This process is expected to be completed within the next three months. With the planning in place, we anticipate no challenges in supplying feedstock for the commissioning and operation phases of the gold extraction plant."
Mohammadreza Moradi, the Engineering and Execution Manager and Project Manager of the Saqqez Gold Extraction Plant, also presented a supplementary report on this part of the Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company's projects. He announced significant progress in the procurement of equipment for the plant's main departments and added: "The construction of equipment for the key departments of the production line, including the crushing, grinding, thickener, and filter press sections, has been completed according to the manufacturers' and suppliers' announcements, and some parts are being transported to the project site." Moradi added, "By reviewing the contractors' execution schedule and leveraging the experience of our execution teams and improving the on-site equipment, we aim to overcome the climatic conditions prevailing in the Kurdistan region and prevent any slowdown in the work. According to our schedule, we expect to see the initial start-up of the Saqqez gold extraction plant production line in early summer of the next year." In conclusion, the attendees of the meeting expressed their gratitude for the efforts made by the Kurdistan Gold team and emphasized the need to support the projects of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company as one of the key development projects of the Sadr Tameen Holding. They also called for continuous monitoring of project execution processes to achieve the final product of the plant next year.
