CEO of Social Security Investment Company (SHASTA) and Delegation Visit Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company Projects
According to the Public Relations Department of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company:
Dr. Mohammad Reza Saeedi, CEO of the Social Security Investment Company (SHASTA), accompanied by Dr. Saeed Naeb, Deputy for Strategy and Oversight of SHASTA’s Subsidiary Companies, and Dr. Mohsen Behzadi, Deputy for Strategy and Oversight of TASICO’s Subsidiary Companies, visited Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company and held discussions on the status of the company’s ongoing projects. Moqdad Majdi, CEO of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, welcomed the CEO of SHASTA and his accompanying delegation and presented a comprehensive report on the status of the company’s mining and processing plant projects. At the conclusion of the visit, Saeedi expressed his appreciation for the efforts undertaken in the construction and commissioning of the plant, noting: “SHASTA’s current policy is to move away from control-oriented management and direct enterprise management toward a shareholder-oriented management model. However, the gold and precious metals industry will be an exception. SHASTA will not only remain active in this sector, but will also make substantial investments in it. We believe that part of the strength and long-term sustainability of SHASTA’s investments can be secured through the precious metals sector, particularly gold.” Saeedi emphasized: “For us, the opening ceremony is not merely a starting point; it marks the beginning of a long-term journey. With the support of capable local human resources, this project can become one of the country’s most successful mining projects.”
He added: “The Saghez Gold Recovery Plant is not only a major industrial and mining project, but will also serve as a driving force for economic development and sustainable employment in Kurdistan Province and Saghez County. Our objective is to ensure that, through comprehensive support, this facility reaches operation as quickly as possible and creates employment opportunities for local young people.” Referring to the company’s significant potential, he also called for accelerated efforts to remove the project’s operational and implementation obstacles, emphasizing: “SHASTA is fully prepared to provide financial and managerial resources and transform this plant into one of the country’s successful industrial models.” During Saeedi’s visit, the CEO of SHASTA and his accompanying delegation toured the Saghez Gold Recovery Plant construction project. The development of human resources and the utilization of local workforce were emphasized as the company’s top priorities. Referring to the indispensable role of human resources in the success of any organization, he stated: “If we can place skilled and committed personnel in the right positions, the success of the organization will be ensured.” The CEO of SHASTA, emphasizing the importance of skills and knowledge alongside commitment and professional ethics, stated: “The gold recovery plant should become a model for utilizing capable human resources. Knowledge, skills, coordination, and effective communication are the fundamental pillars of success on this path. We believe that the right person with the right skills should be placed in the right position.” Stating that corporate social responsibility is not limited to the economic sphere, he added: “Our priority in recruitment will be to utilize the human resources available in the region. In addition to creating sustainable employment, this approach will strengthen social ties and increase the company’s social capital.” The visit was conducted as part of SHASTA’s broader policies aimed at supporting productive projects, creating sustainable employment, and promoting balanced regional development.
