TASICO Deputy for Mining and Mineral Industries Development Announces:

The Acting Deputy for Mining and Mineral Industries Development of TASICO, referring to the fact that the Kurdistan Gold Recovery Plant construction project is among the top priorities of TASICO and SHASTA, said that the project will enter the pre-commissioning stage by the end of Bahman of the current year. Accordingly, completion of the executive operations and removal of project obstacles must be pursued at a faster pace before the onset of the cold season and the region’s precipitation.
According to the Public Relations Department of Sadr Tamin Investment Company (TASICO), Mehdi Zakari-Khatir, Acting Deputy for Mining and Mineral Industries Development of the company, continued his periodic visits and, as part of the continuous monitoring of the investment projects of Sadr Tamin’s subsidiaries, visited the Kurdistan Gold Recovery Plant construction project with his delegation and was briefed on the latest implementation status of the project.
This project is at the top of the list of priority projects of TASICO and SHASTA, and its timely completion and commissioning is one of the main priorities of Sadr Tamin Holding. The project is currently in the implementation stage, and through the efforts of the employer, consultant, and contractor, satisfactory progress has been achieved across its various sections. Based on the established plans, the project’s pre-commissioning will be carried out by the end of Bahman this year.
During the visit, which was conducted to assess the progress of the work in the field, Zakari-Khatir and his accompanying team visited the mine area, access route, and various sections of the plant under construction, emphasizing the facilitation of continued executive operations and the removal of technical obstacles.
A meeting was also held with the managers of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, project consultants, and contractors. The latest status of operational progress, schedules for various sections, solutions for accelerating construction, and the requirements for the project to enter the commissioning and operation stage were reviewed.
On the sidelines of the visit, Zakari-Khatir described the project as one of TASICO’s prominent strategic and value-creating projects in the country’s mining and mineral industries value chain and said: “This project is among the Holding’s priorities for resource allocation. Therefore, the continued completion of the project and its earliest possible entry into operation depend on greater synergy among the employer, consulting engineers, and contractors, as well as the systematic resolution of implementation bottlenecks. Clearly, by continuing this approach, the pace of operations will increase in the coming months.”
Referring to the fact that the project is currently in the implementation phase and that its progress has been satisfactory, the Deputy for Mining and Mineral Industries Development of TASICO emphasized: “The most important challenge facing the executive team is the limited time remaining before the beginning of the cold season and the region’s precipitation. Therefore, maximum advantage must be taken of the remaining opportunity to complete operations in critical sections before the rains begin. For this reason, utilizing the Holding’s full technical and managerial capacity for this purpose is on the agenda.”
He stated that the impact of commissioning this project extends beyond creating value for shareholders, and identified the revitalization of the regional economy, creation of sustainable employment opportunities, and an increase in the country’s share of gold production as other outcomes of the project. He added: “Adherence to the approved schedule, cohesion among the executive stakeholders, and compliance with safety, technical, and environmental requirements are prerequisites for achieving this objective and require continued monitoring and the ongoing support of all parties involved with the project until the final result is achieved.”
