Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company’s Infrastructure Development Projects in Neighboring Villages
As part of the continuation of its corporate social responsibility programs, Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company has implemented a number of infrastructure development projects in the villages neighboring the plant. In line with its objectives of supporting local communities and improving the level of welfare in the neighboring villages, Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company has placed extensive infrastructure development initiatives on its agenda and has proceeded with their implementation. According to the Public Relations Department, with the aim of improving public and welfare infrastructure, the company has completed several projects across the villages neighboring the plant and is also currently implementing a number of other projects. Among the completed initiatives are the organization and installation of fencing around the cemeteries in the villages of “Mazoujdareh” and “Tamouteh,” which have been successfully completed and have resulted in the satisfaction of local residents. In addition, in support of educational facilities and to improve the quality of students’ education, comprehensive renovation works are currently underway at the schools in the villages of “Kandeh-Sureh” and “Cheragh-Veys.” These measures include painting classrooms, waterproofing the rooftops with insulation, improving and renovating school courtyards, and completely renovating sanitary facilities in order to provide students with a standard educational environment. Other ongoing initiatives include the construction of a mortuary (ghassal khaneh) in the village of “Cheragh-Veys,” as well as grading and leveling the access road to the village of “Kandeh-Sureh.” These projects represent an effective step toward facilitating residents’ transportation and addressing service-related challenges in these areas.
