The Acting Deputy for Mining and Mineral Industries Development of Sadr Tamin Investment Company (TASICO) and his delegation visited the Saghez Gold Recovery Plant project. According to the Public Relations Department of Sadr Tamin Investment Company (TASICO), Mehdi Zakari-Khatir, Acting Deputy for Mining and Mineral Industries Development of TASICO, accompanied by his delegation, visited the Qaleh-Qoleqeh Mine preparation project, the construction project of the Saghez Gold Recovery Plant, and the tailings storage facility as part of efforts to monitor the progress of key projects and review their latest implementation status. During his field visit to various sections of the Kurdistan Gold Project, Zakari-Khatir was briefed on the latest implementation status, existing obstacles, the level of physical progress, and upcoming plans. During the visit to the mine area, the most important existing issues and challenges, particularly those concerning the access route from the mine to the plant, were technically and operationally assessed in the field. The activities carried out to equip the temporary and permanent work sites, the progress of extraction at the Qaleh-Qoleqeh Gold Mine, and future plans for supplying feedstock to the plant in the shortest possible time were also explained. The delegation subsequently visited various sections of the plant under construction. Following a review of the progress of construction activities, they participated in a meeting attended by managers of Kurdistan Gold Mining Development Company, project consultants, and contractors. During the meeting, the latest project progress, the implementation schedule for various sections, existing challenges, and solutions for accelerating the construction and commissioning process were reviewed. Speaking on the sidelines of the visit, Zakari-Khatir stated: “The Kurdistan Gold Project is considered one of TASICO’s strategic and value-creating projects in the country’s mining and mineral industries sector, and its timely completion and commissioning are among the main priorities of this holding company.” Noting that the progress of the project in various sections is acceptable and promising, he added: “Through synergy among the employer, consultant, and project contractors, as well as continuous follow-up of implementation challenges, it is possible to accelerate the completion of this important project so that it can enter the operational phase as soon as possible.” The Acting Deputy for Mining and Mineral Industries Development of TASICO said: “TASICO will utilize all of its managerial, technical, and specialized capacities to address the challenges facing the project and support its implementation. The commissioning of this project, in addition to creating added value for the group, will play an important role in the economic development of the region, the creation of sustainable employment, and increasing gold production in the country.” He also emphasized the necessity of adhering to the project schedule, enhancing coordination among the project’s executive stakeholders, and complying with safety, technical, and environmental requirements, and called for continued efforts to complete this national project as soon as possible.
